We keep it fun with community-inspired team names and uniforms, from EAV mascots made famous by the EAV Strut to neighborhood landmarks and local legends. Every team tells a little story about where we play.
EAV Dragons
The “East Atlanta Dragon” is a metal sculpture by Ryan Mathern that became East Atlanta Village’s beloved mascot. Originally in Brownwood Park, it moved to a lot by Argosy bar, inspired dragon-themed art all over the neighborhood, and became part of EAV’s identity.
Colors: Scarlet, Black, Army Tan
Moreland Ave Roosters
The iconic rooster sculpture on Moreland Avenue near McPherson is East Atlanta Village’s oldest mascot. While the sculptor’s details are unknown, this large rooster became the neighborhood’s symbol and represents the “Strut Rooster” section, EAV’s oldest northern area.
Colors: Kelly Green, White, Black, Optic Yellow
Grant Park Roar
The Zoo in Grant Park lets visitors hear the lions’ powerful roars from up to 5 miles away. If you’re in the right place at the right time, you might experience the impressive ROAR. The team also draws inspiration from the Lion’s Bridge, an original 1890 carriage entrance to the park.
Colors: Royal, Gold, Light Blue
Krog Street Tunnelers
The Krog Street Tunnel connects Cabbagetown, Inman Park, and Reynoldstown and is renowned for its ever-changing street art: graffiti, murals, political messages, and community announcements. The Tunnelers keep our community colorful and vibrant.

Wylie Street Coyotes
The Wylie Street Coyotes draw their name from historic Wylie Street and Atlanta’s growing coyote population. As urban coyote sightings increase across the city’s neighborhoods, this team embodies the wild spirit and adaptability of their clever namesake, with a wheelbarrow logo honoring Reynoldstown’s Wheelbarrow Festival.
Colors: Black, Pink, Teal
Grant Street Goats
The Grant Street Goats honor the hardworking goats that regularly clear invasive vegetation along Grant Street. These eco-friendly landscapers devour up to 10 pounds of brush a day, and the team embodies that goat spirit: tenacious, and they will literally tear up the bases.
Colors: Navy, Red, White
Flat Shoals Spitballers
The Flat Shoals Spitballers draw their name from East Atlanta’s quirky llama culture and the legendary EARL music venue. With llama pub crawls, parade appearances, and one of four neighborhood mascots, these notorious spitters inspired the Ricky Vaughn-esque mascot.
Colors: Black, Electric Green, Orange
Westside Hammers ATL
The Westside Hammers are an homage to the era when the Atlanta Braves called Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium home, and to the man who made it famous. On April 8, 1974, “Hammerin’ Hank” Aaron hit home run number 715 there to pass Babe Ruth. The stadium is gone, but the Hank Aaron memorial and the outfield wall marking where that ball landed still stand in the parking lot today. The 755 on the hammer is his career total.

Gate City Ghosts
Long before the Braves, Atlanta was known as the Gate City, and the Gate City Nine were among the first baseball clubs to play here after the Civil War. Some of the city’s earliest games were played on open grounds just outside what is now Oakland Cemetery. The Ghosts carry the spirit of those original ballplayers, and the Oakland gates on their logo mark where Atlanta baseball began.

Ormewood Chuckers
Ormewood Park grew up as a streetcar suburb, with trolleys running down Ormewood Avenue connecting the neighborhood to downtown. The Chuckers are a nod to that trolley legacy: a crew of determined woodchucks who conduct the neighborhood line by day and chuck fastballs by night. How much wood could a Chucker chuck? Just watch the radar gun.

Kirkwood Hoot
Kirkwood’s big old oaks and thick tree canopy make it prime territory for the barred owls that call intown Atlanta home. Walk the neighborhood at dusk and you’ll hear their signature “who cooks for you?” echoing over the porches. The Hoot bring that same sharp-eyed, night-owl focus to the diamond, and they’re just as loud from the dugout.
